Who we are
Beefly (“we”, “us”) provides a personal vocabulary app and this website. This policy describes, in general terms, how we handle information when you use them.
Information we collect
We collect information you give us and information needed to run the service:
- Account details, such as an email address and a display name
- Content you save, such as words, phrases, translations, and learning progress
- Preferences you set, such as a target language
- Sign-in and session information
- Basic technical logs, such as the time of a request and error reports
- Messages you send us
We do not ask for your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or location. Audio in the app is playback of pronunciation.
How we use it
We use this information to:
- Create and secure your account
- Store your library and preferences
- Show translations, definitions, and pronunciation
- Operate, maintain, and improve the service
- Respond to you
- Meet legal obligations
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. The app does not show ads and does not include advertising or tracking software.
We share information only:
- With service providers that host the app, handle sign-in, or generate translations, definitions, and pronunciation
- When you ask us to, for example by choosing a sign-in provider
- When the law requires it, or to protect the service and its users
Dictionary material may be stored in a shared pool so the same word does not have to be generated again. That pool is not a public profile and is not labeled with your name. Your personal library stays linked to your account.
How long we keep it
We keep account and library information while your account is active, and for as long as we need it to operate the service, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. Shared dictionary material may remain after it is no longer tied to you.
Your choices
You can update some information in the app and delete your account from Profile. To ask for access, correction, or deletion, email info@beefly.app.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information, including requiring sign-in to reach your library. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
Children
Beefly is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email info@beefly.app.
International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will change when we do. The current version is published at https://beefly.app/privacy.
